Beta-Alanine is an amino acid used by the body to synthesise carnosine — a natural dipeptide with antioxidant and pH-buffering properties found in brain and muscle tissue. Beta-Alanine can cause a harmless tingling sensation in the skin (paresthesia) 20 to 30 minutes after ingestion — a well-documented, benign effect that passes within an hour.

Calcium at a small amount (1.5% of the Daily Value) is nutritionally negligible but does play a direct role in nerve-cell signalling as a secondary ion carrier — a function distinct from its primary role in bone health.
